Mounting Technician – Framing & Mounting
At theprintspace, we’re the world leaders in fine art and photographic printing, with studios in London, Düsseldorf, and New York. For nearly two decades, we’ve worked with some of the biggest artists and institutions in the world, combining craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. We’re now looking for a Mounting Technician to join our London studio, specialising in framing, mounting, and advanced finishing techniques. This is a hands-on role where every detail matters. You’ll be finishing artworks to gallery and museum standards, ensuring each piece that leaves our studio lives up to theprintspace’s reputation for excellence.
This is not a warehouse job; it’s a role where your skill, precision, and ability to work with both tools and technology will make a real impact.
What you\’ll be doing:
- Mounting fine art and photographic prints to substrates such as Dibond, Foamex, aluminium, MDF, and acrylic
- Executing advanced finishing processes, including Diasec and acrylic face-mounting
- Preparing and cutting substrates accurately using manual and CNC-assisted systems
- Inspecting each piece for alignment, surface quality, and flawless presentation
- Tracking orders and progress in workflow systems (FORM and others) to meet deadlines
- Communicating with colleagues via Slack, email, and internal systems
- Reporting workflow or equipment issues promptly to the Department Manager
- Monitoring materials, supporting efficient stock management, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace
- Operating and maintaining mounting presses, vacuum beds, and CNC cutters
What we\’re looking for:
- Proven experience in fine art or photographic mounting and finishing
- Excellent technical accuracy, manual dexterity, and attention to detail
- Experience working with archival and display substrates (Dibond, Aluminium, Foamex, MDF, Acrylic)
- Ideally, some experience with CNC cutting (training provided if needed)
- Comfortable using production software and digital communication tools
- A proactive, reliable team player who thrives under pressure and maintains high standards
