In 1997, Theory was founded in New York on the simple idea that stretch fabrics in tailored clothing could change how we dress and live. Two decades later, we continue to perfect our offering of elevated wardrobe essentials for the ambitious, urban man and woman. From sourcing materials from the best mills in the world to the innovation and craftsmanship at our atelier in New York's Meatpacking District, the integrity of our process is just as important as our final product. In 2004, Theory was acquired by Fast Retailing, spurring the international expansion of the brand. Operating 440 stores worldwide today, Theory is a New York brand with a global mindset. Our customers dream big, achieve goals, and aim for perfection. So do we, and so do our clothes.
The role is based in the London Head Office, reporting to the Head of Merchandising and Planning. Key responsibilities and duties
- Allocations: Twice weekly review of replenishment requirements for stores and any issues highlighted, with suggested opportunities. This should be done at individual store level, reviewing sales, stock, and cover to ensure sales are potentialized, while ensuring stores are kept below option and stock capacities. Ideal replenishment will be input into the system and confirmed with the logistics team.
- Create and maintain the Allocation plan for new seasonal launches. This should be built and reviewed pre-season and maintained weekly with the Merchandising team. Historic analysis should be conducted and IAQ's per store should be amended in relation to performance and opportunities identified. The allocation strategy will be built by gender by category by style at store level. Initial orders for stores should be built pre-season based on the analysis and input in the system.
- Weekly store visits should be undertaken to understand replenishments needs and store feedback. A strong relationship should be built with DTC and Logistics teams to ensure departmental collaboration.
- Trading: Support the Merchandising team to produce weekly trade reports for the Weekly DTC meeting. Weekly and Monthly review of sales to deliver the planned sales and profitability of Theory DTC. This will be achieved through undertaking department analysis at a Total and individual store and Ecom level: reviewing category and style level details. Helping to suggest informed business decisions to drive the business to meet sales targets. Proactively suggesting and making trading decisions to improve sales performance and identify and highlight issues with possible solutions.
- Ensure stock levels are maintained and managed at a level to optimize Theory DTC performance. Reviewing Retail and Ecom stock levels and availability weekly and managing replenishment and new season releases to drive sales but ensure stock levels are managed in relation to store capacities.
