Are you an experienced Hospitality Manager with experience in overseeing the successful running of Restaurants/Bars and Accommodation? Do you love a project, and being part of something new? Surya Hotels are recruiting for a Hotel Operations Manager to join our team at Theobalds Estate, as we go through a full renovation and refurbishment. Having recently launched the stunning, state-of-the-art Health Club, we are moving on to renovating all accommodation and surroundings, restaurants, and conferencing spaces, including its 54 acres and 140+ rooms, during this exciting period of returning Theobalds Estate to its historic glory.

To be successful as our Hotel Operations Manager you need:

  • Management experience in a 3/4 * 600+ bedroom hotel
  • Phenomenal experience leading restaurant teams – delighting and enhancing guest experience
  • A thirst to drive and improve standards across the hotel and wider estate
  • Great attention to detail
  • Insight into the local market, specifically aware of opportunities and ways to increase F&B and guest footfall
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team across a number of divisions, e.g. restaurant, kitchen, housekeeping, reception, events
  • Numerical dexterity to crunch the numbers, drive occupancy, ARR and achieve best stock control and ROI
  • Compassion to lead, motivate, inspire and develop your team – from your housekeeping stars to your back-office team and FOH wonders
  • Proven experience being hands on whilst seeing the bigger picture to increase business
  • Proven ability to work autonomously within an evolving framework
  • Managers are managed against the hotel P&L, guest feedback, ARR, occupancy levels, audits and team stability

The ideal Hotel Operations Manager:

  • Must have experience within a similar role with site and P&L visibility
  • Strong hospitality background, preferably F&B driven experience gained in boutique hotels or those with personality, with proven levels of success
  • Excellent management skills, including recruiting, inspiring, performance managing and leading a team and an exceptional manager
  • Commercially astute to analyse trends and identify opportunities
  • Flexible in approach and a ‘Can do, will achieve’ attitude, experience in project management distinctly advantageous
