Regional Transport Manager – Field Base Salary: up to £70,000 + 20% bonus + car allowance Our client is seeking a highly skilled Regional Transport Manager. This role is responsible for managing the performance and engagement of teams within a specified geographical area, ensuring exceptional service delivery while achieving strong business outcomes. The Regional Manager will oversee multiple sites, vehicles, and staff, with several direct reports. They will be accountable for operational compliance, cost control, customer service, and staff engagement. Regional Transport Manager Responsibilities: * Lead, motivate and engage teams to deliver exceptional service and strong business outcomes. * Ensure all drivers and fleet operations comply with UK and EU legislation (DVSA standards). * Maintain compliance with Operator’s licence requirements, including vehicle checks, workshop visits, and inspections. * Manage budgetary control, ensuring financial and operational KPIs are achieved. * Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. * Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are adhered to across all operations. * Oversee fleet availability, resource utilisation, and operational efficiency. * Act as on call Manager on a rotational 24/7 basis. * Lead performance management, coaching, and staff development across the region. * Drive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. The Ideal Regional Transport Manager: * Minimum 2 years’ managerial experience within road transport, fleet, logistics, or DVSA-compliant environments. * Proven track record in operational management, compliance, and budget control. * Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams. * Excellent knowledge of HGV operations and fleet compliance. * Analytical and financially aware, able to make data-driven decisions. * Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. You must be able to produce high quality work in a busy motor trade environment and be motivated through set targets, showing flexibility according to the needs of your team.
