Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer Role

Salary Circa - £40,533.92 - £43,821.12 (inclusive of 12% shift allowance)

Locations - Washington

Shift pattern: 2 shift pattern

This role is requiring someone who is wanting a long‑standing opportunity and to progress within a company. The role requires someone who is time served within a maintenance qualification and wants to get involved with projects and have a voice within a company moving forward.

We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to fulfil a permanent position, who must have experience of a manufacturing industry. This position is based within a fast‑moving environment where you must be able to work well under pressure and deal with multiple challenges daily and use your own initiative. This role is requiring someone who has the ability to be self‑efficient and very hands‑on with both reactive and proactive measures to help achieve improvements in OEE.

Skills & Requirements of a Maintenance Engineer:

  • Time served – Full Apprenticeship (Dual Trade)
  • Exposure within a high demanding / manufacturing industry
  • Be able to think on your feet and work well under pressure
  • Strong fault diagnostics and fault‑finding skills upon machinery
  • PPM exposure; strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding skills
  • To have worked upon PLCs previously
  • To have experience and to have worked upon circuits and diagrams

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively maintain a varied range of equipment, always ensuring an acceptable level of health and safety.
  • Root cause diagnosis of all breakdowns and faults to prevent reoccurrences.
  • React to all breakdowns and requested tasks in a timely manner, completing relevant paperwork and ensuring the maintenance of all records.
  • Liaise with other departments and support project development.
  • Monitor manufacturing equipment performance with the aim of implementing process improvements.
  • Support in‑depth analysis of failure modes using suitable diagnosis tools.
  • Develop, implement and review total preventative maintenance routines and ensure adherence to schedule once implemented.
