Location: Washington, Tyne and Wear

Salary: £47,000 - £53,000 per annum including shift allowance, dependent on experience.

Shifts: 3 Shift Rotation

Contract: 1 year FTC

Job Description: As a Die Maintenance Technician, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the performance, maintenance, and optimisation of injection moulding and press tooling. You'll work independently on your shift, tackling both reactive and planned maintenance tasks.

In this dynamic production environment, the Die Maintenance Technician will collaborate with production, engineering, and quality departments to resolve issues, implement root cause analysis, and deliver long-term solutions. Your work will involve precision machining, fault diagnostics, and welding repairs including MIG, TIG, and ARC. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring junior team members and ensuring high tooling standards are maintained.

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • Experience in tooling maintenance (preferably within injection moulding)
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding ability
  • Skilled in tool finishing, bedding, and working with hot runner/manifold systems

Desirable:

  • MIG, TIG, Micro TIG, ARC welding experience
  • Knowledge of PUWER and safe lifting/slinging
  • Familiarity with grinding, polishing, and precision machining techniques
