Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to support New Model Quality Assurance activities at a high-volume manufacturing site. The Quality Engineer will play a critical role in new model launches, supporting part and process development while ensuring all quality systems meet APQP, IATF 16949, and internal new product launch requirements.
The Quality Engineer will work across interior assembly and component manufacturing, collaborating closely with customers, suppliers, and internal project teams. This role offers the chance for a Quality Engineer to make a visible impact on product quality, process performance, and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include managing QA activities for new model launches, coordinating APQP documentation, supporting trial builds, and acting as a key quality liaison with customers and suppliers. The Quality Engineer will also support continuous improvement initiatives, quality reviews, metrology activities, and launch readiness planning.
Skills & Experience
To be successful as a Quality Engineer, you will ideally have:
- HNC or equivalent qualification in an engineering or quality discipline (or relevant experience)
- Proven experience in a similar role within automotive or high-volume manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of APQP, IATF 16949, and quality management systems
- Experience supporting new model launches and trial builds
- Good understanding of metrology, including CMM and gauge development
- Process auditing experience (IATF/ISO qualification desirable)
- Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills
- Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
