The Company: A well-established, high-volume FMCG manufacturing business based in Sunderland is seeking a Planner to join their growing Supply Chain function. This Planner role sits at the heart of a business that prides itself on delivering excellence, efficiency, and customer satisfaction in a fast-moving production environment. The Planner will join a collaborative operation where continuous improvement and cross-functional working are key to success.
Job Description: As the Planner, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating efficient production schedules to ensure on-time customer delivery and optimal manufacturing performance. The Planner will balance demand forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity to create achievable plans while minimising downtime and stock issues. This Planner will work closely with Operations, Procurement, Warehousing, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment between demand and supply. The Planner will monitor production progress, adjust schedules where required, and ensure materials are available to support production requirements.
Key responsibilities include production scheduling, inventory management, ERP system maintenance, forecasting alignment, and identifying risks around stock availability or overproduction. The Planner will also support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
Skills & Experience: The Planner will have experience in production planning, supply chain coordination, or manufacturing scheduling within a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical skills, ERP/MRP system knowledge, and excellent communication abilities are essential. The Planner will be highly organised, proactive, and confident managing multiple priorities.
