Description: As a Fabricator, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding truck bodies from pre-cut steel components using detailed engineering drawings.
The successful Fabricator will play a key role in ensuring products are manufactured to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Daily duties for the Fabricator will include
- Fabrication and welding of beavertail truck bodies
- Cutting, preparing, and assembling steel components
- MIG welding in down hand, vertical, and overhead positions
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and fabrication specifications
- Using a range of hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Ensuring all work is completed to required quality standards
- Identifying and resolving fabrication issues when required
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards within the work area
- Following all company health and safety procedures
- Working closely with colleagues to achieve production targets and delivery schedules
The Fabricator will be expected to work efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on workmanship, quality, and continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working as a Fabricator within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Skilled in MIG welding
- NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication and Welding or a recognised apprenticeship
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience fabricating and assembling steel components
- Good understanding of fabrication tools, equipment, and machinery
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
