This is a highly specialised position requiring a strong electrical bias and proven experience in heavy industry environments. You’ll be diagnosing faults, performing electrical and mechanical repairs, and carrying out full overhauls on overhead cranes and lifting equipment. Key responsibilities for a Crane Service Engineer (Electrical) include: * Electrical fault finding on 3-phase systems, PLCs, VFDs, relays, and motor controls * Performing both reactive and preventative maintenance * Overhauls and installation of lifting systems * Working on-site at customer facilities within a 20-mile radius * Advising clients on operational safety and compliance improvements * Maintaining high standards of health and safety, especially while working at height Skills & Experience: To be successful as a Crane Service Engineer (Electrical), you’ll need: * Strong electrical skills in a heavy industrial setting * Experience with overhead cranes or similar lifting equipment (ideal but not essential) * Mechanical knowledge (gearboxes, hoisting systems, brakes) * Full UK Driving Licence * Willingness to be part of a call-out rota * Comfortable working at height * Desirable: IPAF, LEEA, Safety Passport, Abrasive Wheels Why Should You Apply? * Immediate access to industry-recognised certifications worth £1,500 * High earning potential through call-out and overtime payments * Real career growth opportunities in a specialised sector * Supportive team culture within a stable and growing business * Be part of a leading organisation already employing the largest team of crane engineers in the region If you\’re an experienced heavy industry electrician looking for the next step in your career, this Crane Service Engineer (Electrical) role offers the perfect mix of stability, technical challenge, and progression
