Location: £30,000 - £50,000

Job Description:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:
- Take full ownership of the mechanical development of advanced frequency products. This involves creating detailed 3D CAD models, selecting suitable materials, designing precision components, and performing thermal and structural analysis to ensure high reliability and performance.
- Work closely with electronics, systems, and manufacturing teams, supporting projects from concept through to prototype, validation, and final release.
- Design housings, heatsinks, waveguide structures, test fixtures and other precision assemblies.
- Carry out CFD and FEA analysis, validate assumptions through testing, and support both DFM/DFA activities and production-scale manufacturing.
- Contribute to environmental testing, reliability assessments, supplier support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ultimately, you will play a crucial role in delivering robust, high-quality engineering solutions for mission-critical applications.
Skills & Experience:
Required:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng/MEng or equivalent)
- Strong 3D CAD capability (SolidWorks preferred)
- Experience designing high-precision mechanical assemblies
- Understanding of manufacturing processes (CNC machining, casting, additive manufacturing)
- Hands-on FEA/CFD experience
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings
- Ability to collaborate in cross-disciplinary engineering environments
- Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems
