Working Hours: 4 days per week – day shift

The Electrical Maintenance Technician will join a supportive engineering environment that values safety, continuous improvement and professional development. You’ll have the opportunity to broaden your technical skills, work with modern manufacturing equipment and develop towards a multi-disciplined engineering role.

Job Description:

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will provide essential maintenance support across the site, ensuring facilities and equipment operate safely, efficiently and reliably. You will undertake planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose electrical faults and carry out repairs and minor modifications. The role will involve working with electrical distribution systems, motor control centres, DOL and Star Delta starters, variable speed drives and associated plant equipment. You will use the site CMMS to manage maintenance activities, accurately record work and contribute to reviews of maintenance schedules. You’ll also undertake root cause analysis and help implement improvements to reduce equipment downtime and repeat failures. The Electrical Maintenance Technician will work closely with colleagues, contractors and service engineers while contributing to a strong health, safety, environmental and quality culture.

Skills & Experience:

  • Time-served Electrical Maintenance apprenticeship
  • Minimum 2 years' post-apprenticeship electrical maintenance experience
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Experience with MCCs, electrical distribution and motor control systems
  • Knowledge of DOL, Star Delta and variable speed drives
  • Experience maintaining motors, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment
  • Knowledge of lighting, emergency systems and UPS equipment
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Understanding of risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • IT and CMMS experience
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • ONC or equivalent engineering qualification desirable
