Job Description:
As Supply Chain Manager, you will take responsibility for the complete supply chain journey, from international sourcing and inbound logistics through to production planning and final delivery to major UK customers. The Supply Chain Manager will lead and develop a team of five, creating greater ownership, accountability and collaboration. Reporting to the Operations Director, your responsibilities will include:
- Developing rolling supply, shipment and production plans
- Managing international suppliers, freight forwarders and shipping agents
- Monitoring inbound shipments, inventory and raw-material availability
- Overseeing purchasing activity and supplier performance
- Coordinating production schedules and resolving planning conflicts
- Improving delivery performance and customer service
- Managing import, customs and shipping documentation
- Producing clear supply chain reports and KPIs
- Leading the supply chain workstream during a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementation
- Reducing reliance on spreadsheets through improved systems and processes
- Driving continuous improvement across the function
Skills & Experience:
The successful Supply Chain Manager should demonstrate:
- Significant supply chain leadership experience within food, FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing
- International procurement and inbound logistics experience
- Strong production planning and scheduling knowledge
- Experience leading and developing teams
- Knowledge of purchasing, shipping and import processes
- Experience implementing or improving ERP or MRP systems
- Strong Excel, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities
Experience within high-risk food manufacturing, seafood, protein or short-shelf-life products would be particularly valuable. Exposure to major UK retailers or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central would also be advantageous.
