Job Description:
Reporting directly to the Senior Operations Director, the Operations Manager will take ownership of day-to-day manufacturing and operational performance across the business. This role requires a visible, hands-on operational leader who can drive performance, improve operational efficiencies, and re-engage teams across the shop floor. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting operational growth, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and helping the business transition into a more automated manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading daily manufacturing and operational performance across production and order management
- Driving OTIF performance, productivity, quality, and cost improvements
- Maintaining a strong presence across the shop floor and operational teams
- Re-engaging and developing teams through visible leadership and accountability
- Implementing structured continuous improvement initiatives across the operation
- Supporting the transition towards more automated manufacturing processes
- Improving production planning, workflow, scheduling, and operational reporting
- Driving KPI visibility, root cause analysis, and data-led decision making
- Supporting automation, ERP, and system implementation projects
- Ensuring health & safety, quality, and regulatory standards are maintained
- Collaborating cross-functionally with commercial, engineering, procurement, and quality teams
Skills Required:
- Proven operational leadership experience within a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong experience managing multi-functional teams within fast-paced operations
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to build credibility on the shop floor
- Strong analytical and operational data management capabilities
- Experience leading operational change, transformation, or automation projects
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and production planning principles
