As a Mechanically Biased Fitter, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for Planned Preventative Maintenance, Reactive Maintenance, and Condition Monitoring. In addition to mechanical fault-finding and repairs, you will also engage in welding, fabrication, and the maintenance of pumps, valves, and pipework. Experience within heavy industry, chemical, or COMAH environments is highly desirable.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining accurate records within the CMMS system

  • Supporting TPM (Total Preventive Maintenance) initiatives

  • Mentoring apprentices as part of the training programme

  • Participating in the stand-by rota to ensure out-of-hours support

  • Time-served apprenticeship in maintenance

  • Manufacturing industry experience (heavy/chemical/COMAH preferred)

  • Hands-on welding and fabrication skills

  • Strong mechanical fault-finding ability

  • Familiarity with pumps, valves, and pipework

  • ATEX qualification (desirable)

  • Mechanical Compex qualification (desirable)

Working Hours:

8am-4pm (flexibility needed)

On-call rota: 1 week in 5
