Our team works across a wide range of machinery and facilities, supporting both production and warehousing operations. We take pride in offering opportunities for development and training, and we are committed to creating a collaborative and supportive working environment. Working Hours: * Monday to Thursday: 7:15am – 4:00pm (with flexibility around breaks) * Friday: 7:30am – 12:00pm Please note: consultation is underway to move to a 4-day working week in the near future, consolidating some Friday hours into Monday–Thursday. Job Description: We are seeking a Maintenance Technician with a strong mechanical bias and a developing or baseline knowledge of electrics. This is a varied role working closely with our experienced electrically biased engineer and supporting staff. The role involves: * Planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of machinery * Fault finding, problem solving, and fitting spare parts * Recording and managing breakdown information, repair times, and costs in the PPM system (Pirhana) * Supporting KPI analysis for downtime and maintenance planning * Organising and overseeing specialist contractors where required * Supporting site compliance (e.g., inspections for FLTs, legionella testing, water quality monitoring, fire doors, CCTV, lighting, racking inspections) * General site maintenance across both Sunderland and Gateshead sites Skills & Experience: * Strong mechanical skills with some electrical knowledge (training and support available to upskill further) * Highly organised with strong record-keeping and data entry skills * Experience in machine maintenance, repairs, and fault finding * Good problem-solving skills with the ability to escalate and liaise with contractors where necessary * Ability to work independently and as part of a small team Why Should You Apply? * Competitive salary package with flexibility depending on experience * Investment in your professional development and qualifications * Opportunity to gain experience across multiple areas of maintenance (mechanical, electrical, site facilities) * Be part of a supportive, collaborative team in a stable and growing company * Potential move to a 4-day working week for improved work-life balance
