A well-established and growing manufacturing business is looking to recruit an Electrically Biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to join its engineering team in Hartlepool. Working Hours:

4 on, 4 off shift pattern covering days and nights. 12-hour shifts averaging 42 hours per week.

Job Description:

As an Electrically Biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining plant performance and reliability across a busy manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance activities while supporting continuous improvement projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planned preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on production and plant equipment
  • Electrical fault finding on PLCs, drives, motors and control systems
  • Mechanical maintenance involving hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors and rotating equipment
  • Supporting plant efficiency and minimising downtime
  • Assisting with continuous improvement and reliability projects
  • Installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures

Skills & Experience:

To be considered for this position, you should have:

  • A completed apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering
  • Strong electrical fault-finding experience within manufacturing or industry
  • Knowledge of PLC fault finding (Siemens experience advantageous)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
  • Experience working within a fast-paced production environment
  • 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (preferred)
  • A proactive approach and strong team-working skills
