Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 17:00, Friday 08:00 – 13:00 (occasional overtime may be required) Job Description: We are seeking a proactive and organised Buyer to join a dynamic purchasing team. The Buyer will be responsible for placing purchase orders, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely material supply to support manufacturing operations. This role also supports cost-reduction initiatives, supplier development, and the wider business with quotes and tenders. The Buyer will liaise with suppliers and internal teams, ensuring materials meet production requirements, stock levels are maintained, and procurement processes are efficient. A key focus of the Buyer role will be negotiating costs, developing supplier performance, and contributing to KPIs to achieve business goals. Skills & Experience: * Proven experience in a buying or purchasing role within manufacturing or engineering. * Strong negotiation and supplier management skills, with the ability to achieve cost, quality, and delivery targets. * Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and procurement processes. * Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail when managing supplier data and delivery schedules. * Ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams including engineering, sales, and technical departments. * Experience supporting cost-reduction and supplier re-sourcing projects. * A proactive approach to problem-solving, KPI delivery, and identifying improvements. * Confidence in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
