Job Description

As an Assembly Fitter, you\’ll be responsible for carrying out in-process and final assembly, de-burring, inspection, and testing activities on precision-engineered components to meet customer quality and delivery standards.

Key Duties

  • De-burring and dressing machined components using powered and hand tools.
  • Ensuring components are cleaned, finished, and ready for inspection.
  • Performing pressure and fluid gravity testing to verify functionality.
  • Using inspection equipment such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and surtronics to check components.
  • Identifying and reporting non-conforming parts via the company\’s NCR system.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and inspection records.
  • Supporting continuous improvement and applying 5S principles to maintain an organised workspace.

This Assembly Fitter position is ideal for someone who takes pride in high-quality work and enjoys working within a highly skilled, precision-focused team.

Skills & Experience

  • Time-served qualification in a mechanical engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years\’ experience in a machine shop or precision engineering environment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Confident use of inspection and testing tools.
  • Experience in hydraulic or pneumatic assemblies (advantageous).
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A full UK driving licence.
