We’re looking for an experienced Children’s Home Manager (Registered Manager) for an Ofsted regulated Children’s Residential Home in Bury. This would be the perfect opportunity for you if you have aspirations to become an RI and want to lead in the operations development of a growing independent children’s home group. As the Registered Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the service, building a strong foundation that will become the blueprint for their future services. The directors have extensive experience in the children’s sector, with backgrounds in running multiple children homes and in frontline children’s social work, so you’ll be joining a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to helping children achieve great things.

On offer for the Registered Manager is a salary of ÂŁ60,000 plus a bonus scheme, private medical insurance (after your first year) and the chance to propel your career extensively over the next few years.

As a Registered Manager you’ll be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that the care delivered within the home is of extremely high quality and ensures that each child in the home can thrive
  • Assessment and evaluation of new referrals and managing a smooth transition into the home
  • Regular evaluation of standards of performance
  • Assist and supervise in the continual assessment of the needs of the young people
  • Ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations, national care standards and Local Authority requirements
  • Deliver effective leadership to the staff team, that promotes a positive culture of open practice
  • Take part in recruitment, vetting and training of new staff

What we’re looking for:

  • It is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL that you have experience of being a Children’s Home Manager /Registered Manager of Children’s Residential Care previously.
  • We may be able to consider a very experienced Deputy who is ready for the next step - you’ll need at least 2 years Deputy experience within the last 5 years to meet Ofsted requirements.
  • You’ll be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Ofsted regulations, current legislation and safeguarding processes.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • QCF level 5 or equivalent in Leadership and Management for Social care (Children and Young People) or willingness to complete this within the 1st year of employment.
