Experience as Senior or Deputy Manager in Children’s Residential Care is essential. This is a brilliant opportunity with an established but growing children’s home provider that’s heavily focused on quality, stability, and creating the right environment for young people to thrive. We’re looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day leadership and management of a children’s home supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties and complex needs. The provider is looking for somebody who’s passionate about delivering high standards of care, developing strong teams, and creating therapeutic, child-centred homes where young people can genuinely progress and feel safe. This is perfect for somebody who wants to grow into a Registered Manager role as this company has a number of homes locally and invests in training and mentorship to develop and promote into their management team from within.

As a Deputy Manager, you’ll work closely with the Home Manager to lead the home and ensure it runs smoothly and effectively. You’ll provide both direct care and team leadership while stepping in for the Manager as needed.

  • Supporting and supervising staff, appraisals, training, and team development
  • Ensuring the home meets all care and compliance standards
  • Helping with recruitment and rota planning
  • Leading by example in day-to-day care and safeguarding of children
  • Managing shift audits, reporting systems, and quality checks
  • Promoting therapeutic practice and the PACE model
  • Acting as a point of contact for external professionals and families
  • Being a role model for the team and the children

What We’re Looking For:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or above
  • Previous experience as a Senior Residential Support Worker or Deputy Manager within children’s residential care
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding legislation
  • Experience supporting young people with EBD and complex needs or learning disabilities
  • Full UK driving licence

Why Work for Them?

  • Opportunities to do Level 5 qualification and clear progression to Registered Manager role
  • Performance-based bonuses based on feedback and Ofsted outcomes (circa £2500)
  • Beautifully decorated homes with generous activity budgets for young people
  • Therapeutic training and reflective supervision built onto your role
  • Employee Assistance and Wellbeing programme
