Our Freight and Logistics client are looking for a Business Development Manager with experience of selling solutions in the freight and logistics sector, specifically Air and Sea. This role is field based but is covering the North of the UK, Manchester upwards.
Main Duties
- Build, manage and maintain an active pipeline as you identify, develop and secure Air & Seafreight Customers that demonstrates that your sales targets will be achieved.
- Manage own appointments and Customer visits.
- Maintain all appointments and opportunities within the Companies CRM System with a high level of Data Quality.
- Create and maintain a sales pipeline for presentation to the Commercial Manager.
- Compile Customer Visit Reports and distribute as required.
- Work with the pricing team on quotations and tenders to support opportunities.
- Follow Customer onboarding protocols to include Credit Applications, Credit Terms, creating SOPs.
- Work with the relevant branch managers and operation staff to successfully onboard new Customers.
- Maintain and build Customer relationships with regular review meetings.
- Ensure all agreed KPIs are met at all times.
- Attend UK Sales Meetings or internal meetings as required.
- Weekly meeting with Commercial Manager, either via teams or face to face.

- 5 years experience in a commercial sales role.
- Air & Sea sales and Operations knowledge.
- A proven track record on meeting or exceeding targets.
- Compiling Client proposals and quotations.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Package Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Experience of working with a CRM.
