The Role:
As a Technologist specialising in Lingerie & Swimwear, you will be pivotal in ensuring our products consistently meet customer expectations and regulatory standards. You’ll lead the implementation of the New Look Quality Framework, driving continuous improvement, and setting the standard for quality and product engineering across the business. Deputising for the Technical Manager, you’ll be the go-to expert within the Buying, Merchandising & Design (BMD) teams for quality and manufacturing.

What you’ll be doing:
- Shape and deliver quality strategy within your product category and across the wider quality team.
- Use customer insights, market trends, and competitor benchmarking to continuously improve product quality.
- Collaborate closely with BMD to align quality processes, cost price, and lead times.
- Own and embed the New Look Quality Framework, ensuring robust quality assurance throughout the value chain.
- Drive product engineering decisions to deliver the best cost, value, and fit for mass production.
- Lead risk assessments and corrective action plans for continuous product improvement.
- Mentor and coach your team, fostering skill development and motivation.
- Represent quality in cross-business forums and support trading activities with full knowledge of profit drivers.
Who you are:
- A specialist in Lingerie & Swimwear with deep technical knowledge of product construction, materials, and fit.
- Experienced in manufacturing environments, fit sessions, pre-production meetings, and interpreting test reports.
- Skilled in quality assurance techniques, risk assessment, and product engineering with an eye for innovation.
- Confident in conducting technical factory audits and implementing corrective actions.
- A natural leader and mentor with strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Proactive, solution-focused, and collaborative, building strong relationships internally and with suppliers.
- Familiar with open costing and able to support the buying team effectively.
- Knowledgeable about New Look’s brand strategy and committed to delivering its values.
- Proven experience as a Technologist or Senior Technologist within a major retailer or relevant category.
- Relevant technical qualifications or degree.
- Expertise in lingerie and swimwear product categories is essential.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team.
