We are currently seeking an Intermediate Data Engineer in Manchester to join our rapidly growing Data Engineering team. This role is for someone who is passionate about building innovative solutions and being exposed to new challenges and technologies while making an impact.

What our team does:

  • Our Data Engineering team is driven to deliver an incredible experience to our customers–Clions and Clio's customers.
  • As a Data Engineer at Clio, you will build data pipelines from scratch, make data sets accessible to our partner teams, and help build the platform and tools for data at Clio by writing production-ready code.
  • We move quickly, work with state-of-the-art technologies, and are motivated by solving complex problems.

A day in the life might look like:

  • Implement data ingestion (real-time and batch) using best practices in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes by leveraging Azure technologies and data tools.
  • Design, build, and maintain data transformation pipelines and notebooks, consolidating various data sources (streaming or batch) into Data Lakes / Data Warehouses.
  • Collaborate with engineers to help adopt best practices in data system creation, data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
  • Develop prototype or "proof of concept" implementations of projects where the technical solution is unknown or unproven.
  • Build interactive reports for internal and customer consumption.

Skills you may have:

  • Experience in software development, as well as experience in data engineering or data analytics.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure).
  • Proficiency in at least one major language (e.g., Python, Spark SQL, or Scala) and SQL, the drive to write elegant and maintainable code, and a desire to pick up new technologies.
  • Experience with streaming and batch data tools: Spark, Airflow.
  • Data warehousing experience working with MS Fabric or similar.
  • Experience using visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, and the ability to derive clarity in ambiguous environments.
  • Experience using mirroring or other replication tools.
  • You are a self-starter and thrive on feedback.

The expected salary range for this role is £69,700 to £82,000 to £94,300 GBP. There are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.
