In the role of Lifeguard, you will ensure the best levels of service are achieved for our customers through offering friendly, clean and safe facilities. We’re not looking for the next Duncan Goodhew but you will need to be able to swim competently. If you need extra coaching to get to the level needed to become a lifeguard, don’t worry as one of our excellent swim teachers will be able to support you to improve.
If you want to progress further, we will support this through additional training, both formal and on the job will be key. However, we also appreciate that not everyone wants to ‘move up the ladder’ and that’s absolutely fine with us. What is really important is that you are happy in your work.
Hours: 8.5 hours a week, Saturday (rota basis)
Requirements:
- Team orientated approach
- An ability and understanding of how to relate to customers of all ages and abilities
- Great interpersonal skills
- Flexible and adaptable
- Demonstrated passion and energy for the leisure industry
Requirements for training course:
- Be 16+ years of age on the date of assessment
- Swim 50 metres in no more than 60 seconds
- Swim 100 metres continuously on front and 100m continuously on back
- In deep water, tread water for 30 seconds
- Surface dive to the floor of the pool
- Climb out of the pool unaided without using a ladder / steps where the pool design permits
- You will need to be available for the entire course duration including the assessment date.
