We are looking for a highly analytical, commercially minded Assistant Merchandiser to join our team part-time on a fixed-term basis. This is an exciting opportunity to support a fast-growing business, partnering closely with the Design and Production teams to drive sales, profit, and stock efficiency. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the department through robust forecasting, in-season trading, line management, and clear analytical insight. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, enjoys problem solving, and can confidently turn data into actionable decisions.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own weekly trade reporting, reforecasting, and seasonal planning updates to ensure stock and sales plans remain aligned with business targets.
  • Produce accurate and clear analysis to support trading and buying decisions across key attributes including style, size, colour, price architecture, and store performance.
  • Identify risks and opportunities within the department, proactively making recommendations to maximise sales and margin.
  • Monitor weekly performance against KPIs including ROS, WOS, sell-through, stock cover, markdown spend, and margin.
  • Drive in-season trade actions, including repeats, cancellations, and promotional opportunities.
  • Take ownership of line flows, intake management, and reorders, ensuring continuity lines remain in stock and availability targets are maintained.
  • Support future range and option planning through historical analysis, customer insights, and channel performance.
  • Manage the markdown and promotional process, recommending actions that optimise stock turn while protecting margin.
  • Maintain and update the WSSI, ensuring sales, stock, and intake plans are accurately reflected.
  • Own and manage Direct to Consumer business channels.
  • Contribute to improving merchandising tools, reporting, and systems to drive greater efficiency and accuracy.

What You’ll Need

  • Proven experience in an Assistant Merchandiser role within fashion, lifestyle, or retail.
  • Strong understanding of retail math and merchandising KPIs, with the ability to confidently interpret data and translate it into commercial actions.
  • Excellent forecasting, reforecasting, and WSSI management skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including confidence with pivot tables, lookups, and large data sets.
  • Experience working with Shopify, Mirakl a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships across Buying, Merchandising, Ecommerce, and Supply Chain.
  • Highly organised with excellent prioritisation and time-management skills.
  • Commercially curious and confident challenging the status quo with data-led recommendations.
