The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

We are representing our client in the search for a Health & Safety professional to join their Facilities Management Department. Working closely with the Contractor Compliance & CDM Manager, the successful candidate will help ensure that all Facilities project work and contractor controls are delivered safely and in line with best practice. This role will involve active engagement with the Facilities team as well as supporting projects across the wider business. It requires building strong working relationships with contractors and internal stakeholders across multiple locations. The position offers a varied working environment, combining time spent on construction sites with time working within a corporate office setting. Projects include new builds, refurbishments and construction works within existing operational buildings.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out focused Health & Safety inspections across facilities projects and contractor activities
- Ensure actions identified during inspections are tracked and closed out
- Collate information and produce reports on findings
- Carry out investigations and support reporting and statistical analysis
- Provide guidance to ensure the business remains compliant with relevant regulations
- Promote health and safety best practice across facilities works and projects
- Plan and manage a diary to proactively engage across multiple UK sites
- Build strong relationships with contractors and internal stakeholders
- Monitor appointed contractors to ensure they are meeting their contractual and safety obligations
- Manage workload effectively and meet project deadlines
What we are looking for
- Minimum NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate
- Experience working within construction environments
- Knowledge of health and safety auditing processes
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence others
- Ability to problem solve and develop practical solutions
- Comfortable working both on construction sites and within a corporate environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Ability to manage workload independently and work to tight deadlines
Desirable
- Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
- CSCS Card
- Auditing qualification such as ISO 45001 or ISO 14001
Additional information
The role involves working across multiple sites including Stevenage, Bristol and Bolton, with regular travel required. Travel will typically involve visiting other sites a couple of days each week. There is a significant new development project planned in Bolton this year, which will form a key part of the role. A large part of the position involves inspecting appointed contractors and ensuring they are fulfilling their subcontract and safety requirements.
