An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and commercially minded Employment Law Solicitor to join a progressive and growing legal practice. This role offers the chance to work within a dynamic environment that values innovation, professional development, and high-quality client service.
You will manage a diverse caseload acting for both Claimants and Respondents across contentious and non-contentious employment matters. This is a client-facing role suited to a solicitor who is confident, proactive, and capable of working independently while contributing to the wider success of the department.
Key Objectives- Deliver high-quality fee-earning work and contribute to departmental profitability
- Support business growth through client development and service excellence
- Maintain high professional standards in line with business objectives
- Advise on all aspects of employment law, including contracts, policies, and procedures
- Draft employment contracts, staff handbooks, and related documentation
- Represent clients in Employment Tribunals, including advocacy where appropriate
- Negotiate and draft settlement agreements
- Provide strategic advice on disciplinary, grievance, and dismissal matters
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records and reporting
- Attend client meetings, including on-site visits where required
- Deliver training sessions and legal updates to clients
- Develop precedents, templates, and guidance materials
- Contribute to business development through networking, marketing, and seminars
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE in Employment Law
- Strong technical expertise across both contentious and advisory employment matters
- Experience managing a full caseload with minimal supervision
- Advocacy experience (desirable)
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems
- Commercial Awareness
- Understands financial and commercial drivers of legal services
- Effectively manages billing, WIP, and cash collection
- Identifies opportunities for business growth and service improvement
