We are looking for a friendly, organised and efficient Administrative Assistant/Press Officer to join our welcoming admin team at Winnall Primary School. Winnall Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive school community in Winchester, with enthusiastic children and a dedicated, supportive staff team. As the first point of contact for many parents/carers, visitors and children, you will play a key role in creating a positive and professional front-of-house experience, while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school office. The hours are Monday 8.30am - 1.30pm and Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm.
Your key areas of responsibility will include:
- Updating the website and calendar.
- Assisting with communications to families including emails and newsletters.
- Acting as the main point of contact for media enquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with local and regional media.
- Promoting the organisation’s achievements, events and key messages through the media.
- Working closely with colleagues to identify newsworthy stories and opportunities.
- Ensuring all communications reflect the organisation’s values and ethos.
- Initiating and maintaining a social media presence.
The successful candidate will:
- Be highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have the skills to demonstrate initiative, resilience and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment, while maintaining confidentiality and supporting safeguarding procedures.
