Job Introduction

Part-Time KS1 Class Teacher (Job Share) – 4 Days per Week - Starting September

We are looking to appoint a hard-working, well-organised and enthusiastic teacher to join our supportive and committed staff team in our wonderful small school in the Test Valley. This part-time post is based in Key Stage 1, teaching our mixed Year 1/2 class as part of a successful job-share arrangement. The role is for four days per week and offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside a dedicated and experienced colleague.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be passionate about securing excellent outcomes for all children.
  • Place children's learning, wellbeing and development at the heart of everything they do.
  • Create an inspiring and purposeful learning environment and demonstrate positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Use assessment effectively to support children's progress and build upon prior learning.
  • Encourage children to develop confidence, curiosity and independence in their learning.
  • Have high expectations of themselves and all pupils.
  • Be reflective and committed to continually developing their own practice.
  • Demonstrate resilience and effective workload management strategies.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to working collaboratively as part of a small, supportive team.
  • Have a positive attitude and a great sense of humour.

We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs). Experience of teaching within Key Stage 1 is desirable, but we are equally keen to hear from enthusiastic teachers at the start of their career who are eager to learn and develop within a nurturing school environment.

We can offer:

  • Happy, enthusiastic children who love learning.
  • A very friendly and supportive team where everyone is encouraged and valued.
  • A strong commitment to professional development, including opportunities for both experienced teachers and ECTs.
  • An outward-looking school committed to sharing best practice and providing children with the very best educational experiences.
  • A well-resourced learning environment that supports the delivery of a broad, rich and engaging curriculum.
  • Regular opportunities to contribute to school improvement and curriculum development.
  • Active and supportive parents and governors.
  • The unique experience of working in a small school with strong links to the local community.
  • A culture where staff wellbeing is not just supported but actively promoted.

We warmly encourage prospective applicants to visit our school. Please contact the school office on 01794 368359 to arrange a tour and to meet the headteacher - Natalie Alldred.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.
