We are looking for a new School Business Manager. Have you got experience of working in a school office and enjoy working with children and adults? Are you well‑organised, detail‑focused and strong with finances? Are you familiar with setting and managing a budget and school financial processes? What about health and safety, employment and HR? Do you have experience of managing others? If so, you could be our new School Business Manager. This is an exciting, new opportunity to join our friendly and dedicated team at Vigo, a 3‑form entry primary school in the heart of Andover. We foster an inclusive, caring environment that encourages academic and social growth.
Responsibilities
- Successful financial processing and reporting with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of employment regulations and recruitment processes, implementing these through payroll and other systems (training will be available).
- Calm, positive and effective communication with colleagues, children, parents, governors and external agencies.
- Proactive establishment and maintenance of administrative systems for a busy school office.
- Close collaboration with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team.
- Act as the school’s Data Protection Officer, ensuring compliance with GDPR legislation.
- Support first‑aid and medical needs.
- Maximise value for money to achieve educational goals, supporting the school values and development plan.
- Identify and pursue external funding opportunities for the benefit of pupils.
- Lead and develop a skilled team, nurturing strengths and opportunities for continued growth.
- Maintain proficiency with IT systems such as MIS, HCSS Budgeting, IBC and general spreadsheet/online tools.
