We are looking for a learning support assistant to start work as soon as possible in our specialist classroom with a small class of children with special educational needs. Working within a team of 5, we strive to ensure the children learn both academic and life skills. We are a unique collection of schools that are fast-paced, exciting and with palpable cultures where we are serving our community. Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- Sets high expectations for themselves and their pupils
- Can teach children the skills they need to become independent learners
- Has excellent knowledge of Key Stage 1 and the expectations for learning or a dedication to continue own learning journey
- Be a calm, positive and effective communicator, confident in liaising with all colleagues, children, parents, governors and outside agencies
- Be able to use initiative and thrive through a ‘can do’ approach to solving problems
- Be flexible in the role and tasks undertaken and can work with frequent interruption
- Is a great team player who would really enjoy contributing to the school
- Demonstrates a commitment to pupils' development and pastoral care
- Is able to build strong relationships with children and meet their individual needs
