Haselworth Primary School are currently seeking a lunchtime supervisory assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable and keen to support the school, giving our children enjoyable lunch and play experiences. This is a rewarding and fast-paced role, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children's lives. The ideal candidate will be patient, compassionate, and understanding of children's behavioural needs, while also being a supportive team player who works collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive and nurturing environment.

Duties will include:

  • Supervising children in the lunch hall and when playing outside on the playground
  • Supervising and engaging with children on the playground
  • Encouraging positive play and listening to children
  • Using restorative and positive approaches in promoting and managing positive behaviours, attitudes and relationships
  • Administrating simple first aid (training will be given to the right applicant)
  • Ensuring that children are safe from harm, spotting the signs of harm and following the school's safeguarding procedures in recording and reporting concerns (training will be given)
  • Being aware of health and safety to ensure a safe environment for all

The successful applicant will need to:

  • Be reliable and a good timekeeper
  • Support children whilst they eat their lunch and promote healthy eating
  • Be reliable and consistent in promoting good behaviour and the values of the school

  • Use positive and restorative approaches to promoting positive behaviours, attitudes, play and relationships
