This role is a temporary part-time Learning Support Assistant who will provide 1:1 support and lunchtime assisting in a primary resourced provision. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to facilitate inclusion and deliver targeted interventions, while supporting other children as well.
Responsibilities
- Have some experience of working with children (special needs experience desirable but not essential).
- Demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Grades A–C in Maths & English).
- Implement learning activities to enable children to access the planned curriculum.
- Help children develop social skills and appropriate interactions with peers.
- Show willingness to learn new skills.
- Support the development of children's social and self-help skills.
- Use a variety of positive behaviour management strategies under teacher guidance.
- Work closely with and be accountable to the class teacher, who will give guidance on the nature and extent of the support and supervision.
- Undertake 30 minutes of supervision of children at lunchtimes as directed.
- Plan and review regularly with the class teacher.
- Meet regularly with the inclusion manager, RP manager and RP teachers and contribute to children’s Learning Plans.
