Barton Stacey Church of England Primary School is seeking a caring, patient and committed Learning Support Assistant to join our staff team from September 2026. This part-time role will involve providing dedicated 1:1 support for a child with additional SEND needs within our Early Years / Key Stage 1 provision. The successful candidate will play an important role in helping the child access learning, develop confidence and experience success as part of our inclusive school community.
We are looking for someone who understands the importance of building trusting relationships and adapting support to meet individual needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide personalised 1:1 support throughout the school day.
- Support the child to access classroom learning and wider school experiences.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and external professionals where appropriate.
- Encourage independence, communication and engagement.
- Monitor progress and contribute to support records.
- Build positive relationships with families and colleagues.
- Promote the school’s Christian ethos and values.
- Has experience working with children with additional needs (desirable).
- Is calm, patient and nurturing.
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Can follow guidance whilst responding flexibly to changing needs.
- Is committed to inclusive practice and helping children flourish.
Part time hours to fit with the needs of the child. This will be discussed further at interview but we anticipate this being half days initially.
