Role: Fitness Manager (Flex contracts available)
Reporting to: General Manager
Based: Bridgwater, Somerset
About the role
As a Fitness Manager with The Gym Group you will support the General Manager in running the gym and deputise in their absence. You will be passionate about fitness and keen to embrace our members, our teams and embed our culture.
Responsibilities
- Responsibility for member engagement by leading the in-gym service offering, driving member satisfaction scores forward.
- Line manage and lead a team of fitness trainers, engaging and motivating them to be their best each day.
- Take ownership of the group exercise offering, developing the timetable and upskilling the team.
- Drive commercial performance of the gym.
- Maintain high operational standards on site, managing cleaning, maintenance and liaising with third‑party suppliers.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies and complete daily, weekly, monthly checks.
- Support the GM with onsite admin tasks including rotas, time tracking and security checks.
- Act as keyholder for the gym and be a point of call-in for emergencies.
- Workout PT in the gym during employed hours, managing own time and business, and retain 100% of earnings with no annual licence fee.
Qualifications
- Passion for health, fitness, wellbeing and excellence.
- Experience leading teams from the front and setting standards for member experience.
- Commitment to understanding member expectations.
- Ability to deliver high service levels within compliance parameters.
- Proven track record of success in fitness / gym environment.
- Level 2 qualified Fitness Instructor or currently studying for the qualification.
