The Fitness Manager supports the General Manager in running the gym and deputes in their absence.
The role focuses on member engagement, team leadership, class delivery, commercial performance, and operational standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead member engagement and drive satisfaction scores through in‑gym service.
- Line‑manage and motivate fitness trainers, modelling the brand values.
- Own Group Exercise: develop class timetables and upskill the team.
- Drive commercial performance of the gym.
- Ensure high operational standards – cleaning, maintenance and third‑party suppliers.
- Maintain Health & Safety compliance and complete regular checks.
- Support the GM with onsite admin tasks such as rotas, time tracking and security checks.
- Act as keyholder and respond to emergencies.
- Provide PT service during employed hours, managing own time and retaining 100 % of earnings (no annual licence fee).
Qualifications
- Passion for health, fitness and well‑being.
- Experience leading teams, setting high member experience standards.
- Commitment to member expectations and compliance.
- Track record of success and a winning attitude.
- Level 2 qualified Fitness Instructor or currently studying for the qualification.
