We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help modernise how financial and actuarial data is handled. This is a hands-on contract role focused on building scalable data infrastructure that replaces manual, spreadsheet-heavy processes with automated, auditable workflows.

The MissionYou’ll be building robust backend data systems that power automated pipelines and business-facing dashboards for financial services clients. The work is practical, high-impact, and close to real decision-making.
What you’ll be doing- Designing and implementing cloud data warehouse schemas (BigQuery preferred)
- Building reconciliation logic and data quality frameworks for financial data
- Creating dashboards and visualisations for business stakeholders
- Working with financial instrument identifiers like ISIN and CUSIP
- Mapping and reconciling data across multiple financial systems
- 4+ years experience in data engineering or data architecture
- Strong SQL and hands-on experience designing data warehouse schemas
- Background in asset management or financial markets (investment accounting, fund administration, portfolio management)
- Experience building reconciliation logic and data quality checks
- Comfortable with BI tools such as Looker or Looker Studio
- Insurance or reinsurance domain experience
- Exposure to platforms like Clearwater or Aladdin
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting (IFRS 17, BSCR, Solvency II)
- Python for data processing or automation
- Experience with GCP services like Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Run
