thefutureworks is currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join Coventry University Group on a temp-to-perm basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled maintenance professional looking to secure a long-term position within a large and diverse organisation. The successful candidate will initially be engaged on a temporary basis through thefutureworks, with the opportunity to move into a permanent position with Coventry University Group, subject to performance and business requirements.
The Role
As a Maintenance Technician, you will provide a high-quality maintenance and facilities service across Coventry University Group's estate. This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role where you will carry out reactive repairs, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), and minor project works, ensuring buildings remain safe, compliant, functional, and well-presented at all times. Working across a diverse property portfolio including academic buildings, halls of residence, student accommodation, and associated facilities, you will undertake a wide range of building fabric repairs, maintenance activities, room adaptations, and refurbishment works.
You will also support internal moves, furniture installations, event setups, and space reconfigurations, helping to ensure facilities continue to meet the needs of staff, students, and visitors. You will work closely with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver a professional and customer-focused service, ensuring all activities comply with health and safety legislation, statutory requirements, and University procedures. Using the University's CAFM system, you will maintain accurate maintenance records, report defects, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the performance and sustainability of buildings and services.
The Successful Candidate
We are looking for an experienced maintenance professional with a strong background in building maintenance, facilities services, or a multi-trade environment. This role would suit candidates with experience as a:

You will have practical experience carrying out a range of maintenance activities, particularly within:
