We're currently recruiting for a Facilities Maintenance Technician on a temp-to-perm basis, offering an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term role supporting Coventry University's campus in Dagenham with occasional travel to other sites. This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role ideal for someone with experience in plumbing, electrical and general building maintenance who is looking for stability and career progression. This is a senior, hands-on, multi-trade position requiring a highly skilled and self-sufficient professional, capable of independently managing and delivering reactive and planned preventative maintenance. You'll play a key role in keeping campus buildings safe, compliant, and fully operational, supporting an outstanding environment for students, staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out reactive and planned maintenance (PPM) across the campus
- Complete general building fabric repairs (doors, walls, ceilings, flooring, fixtures)
- Perform basic plumbing repairs and maintenance
- Support electrical/mechanical maintenance where qualified
- Assist with minor refurbishments, moves, and room setups
- Conduct compliance checks (e.g. water temperatures, alarm testing)
- Ensure all work meets Health & Safety and statutory requirements
- Liaise with and support external contractors
