We are currently recruiting for an experienced Plumbing & Heating Technician to join an established Estates and Facilities team supporting a large university estate in Coventry and surrounding locations.

This is a varied hands-on maintenance role covering planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding, servicing, installation and improvement works across a wide range of plumbing, heating, ventilation and associated mechanical systems.
The successful candidate will work across academic buildings, student accommodation, halls of residence and other facilities, helping to ensure that essential building services remain safe, compliant, reliable and efficient.
Depending on your experience, the role can offer responsibility ranging from hands-on technical maintenance through to senior-level technical leadership, supervision and coordination of works.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a wide range of plumbing, heating and ventilation systems.
- Diagnose faults and undertake effective repairs and rectification works.
- Work on hot and cold-water systems, heating distribution systems, pressure systems, plant rooms and associated mechanical equipment.
- Carry out installation, upgrade, adaptation and improvement works.
- Support the operation, maintenance and fault finding of Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Undertake statutory and mandatory maintenance activities in line with relevant legislation and safety requirements.
- Ensure all work is completed to appropriate regulatory, health and safety and quality standards.
- Identify potential issues and recommend appropriate remedial action.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, manufacturers and other internal teams where required.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and provide updates on job progress.
- Read and interpret relevant technical, mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Provide technical advice and assistance to colleagues, staff and other stakeholders where required.
- Support continuous improvement and identify opportunities for improved efficiency, reliability and cost savings.
