Contractor Controller (Electrical)
Coventry University Group is looking for an experienced **Contractor Controller (Electrical) to join our Estates Team.
You will supervise and coordinate electrical maintenance contractors across our estate, ensuring planned and reactive works, statutory inspections and minor projects are delivered safely, compliantly and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor electrical contractors and contract performance.
- Coordinate planned, reactive and statutory maintenance.
- Review RAMS and permits to work and ensure electrical safety compliance.
- Monitor workmanship, KPIs and service levels.
- Provide technical guidance and support with fault finding and incidents.
- Use the Planon CAFM system to manage works and compliance records.
- Liaise with contractors, technical teams and University stakeholders.
About you:
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Supervisor, Senior Electrician, Electrical Maintenance Coordinator, Building Services Engineer or similar.
You will have:
- Relevant electrical qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of electrical building services and **18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)**.
- Experience supervising contractors and managing RAMS/permits.
- Good understanding of electrical compliance and safe working practices.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
The role requires travel to Coventry University Group campuses including **Scarborough, Milton Keynes, Central London and Dagenham**, with occasional overnight stays and participation in the management call-out rota. xgikmsk
