We are seeking to appoint an excellent Subject Leader of Design Technology & Art to provide professional leadership, management and co‑ordination to ensure the department is able to provide all students with high levels of personal achievement through the delivery of highly effective teaching and learning. You will possess a passion for raising achievement and an aptitude for overcoming barriers to learning. Dynamic and creative, you will be able to inspire those around you.

Responsibilities
  • Provide executive leadership, management and co‑ordination of the Design Technology & Art department.
  • Ensure the department delivers highly effective teaching and that raises students’ personal achievement.
  • Inspire and motivate staff and students, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and evaluation to meet student and school goals.
  • Implement safeguarding practices and maintain a safe learning environment for all students.
  • Collate and report data on student progress and department performance to school leadership.
  • Represent the department at staff meetings, school events and external engagements.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in educational leadership, preferably in Design Technology or Art.
  • Strong track record in raising student achievement and overcoming learning barriers.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and lead a diverse team of teachers and support staff.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check and Social Media check.
