Nestled in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, The Fife Arms is a destination like no other – where art, hospitality, and heritage come together in a truly inspiring setting.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Assistant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our beautiful hotel and staff accommodation are kept in exceptional condition. You’ll complete a variety of tasks to maintain safety, quality, and comfort across all guest and staff areas.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Completing maintenance and repair work across hotel fixtures, fittings, and furnishings to the highest standard.
  • Performing a wide range of tasks including joinery, plumbing, electrics, painting, and decorating.
  • Maintaining staff accommodation, both internally and externally, as per the daily task list.
  • Ensuring full compliance with all Environment, Health, Safety, Security, and Fire procedures.

You’ll work alongside a talented and supportive team who share a passion for craftsmanship, service, and continuous learning – all striving to create memorable experiences for our guests and community.

About You

You’ll be a hands-on, detail-oriented professional with a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence. We’re looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience in property maintenance or a similar role, ideally within a luxury hospitality setting.
  • Practical skills across joinery, plumbing, electrical systems, general repairs, and decorating.
  • The ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • A calm and proactive approach, even in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
