Experienced Stud Groom required for a sole charge position on a private estate with excellent facilities.
The Thurlow Hunt is seeking an experienced, reliable and enthusiastic full-time Stud Groom to care for a small team of hunt horses on a private estate in Suffolk with excellent facilities.
This is primarily a sole charge position, so applicants must be confident working independently, using their own initiative and maintaining the highest standards of horse care, yard management and paddock management.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day care and fitness of the hunt horses, including clipping, plaiting, turnout and all general yard duties.
The role also involves liaising with the vet, farrier and feed merchant, together with ensuring that the yard is kept clean, tidy and well organised at all times.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience with hunt or competition horses, be a confident rider, and possess a positive, hardworking and organised approach.
Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and be able to drive a 7.5T horsebox.
An excellent remuneration package, commensurate with experience, is offered, together with accommodation if required.
