Hunsley Primary are looking for an individual who is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of children to join our friendly and dedicated team of Teaching Assistants who play a vital role in supporting and assisting the teaching, learning and care of children within our school.
The working hours are 18.75 hours per week, 11:45am to 3:35pm Monday to Friday during the school term. You will also be paid for an additional 18.75 hours per year, which enables you to attend team meetings and training and development outside of your normal working hours. Your actual salary will be Β£10,791.57 per annum, and this is paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. This is a fixed-term position until 31st August 2025.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe key responsibilities associated with this role involve facilitating the participation and learning of pupils either individually or in small groups, helping to build confidence and self-esteem, including but not limited to:
- clarifying and explaining instructions;
- ensuring pupils are able to use equipment and materials provided; including moving and handling to meet a childβs individual needs;
- assisting in identified areas, e.g. language, behaviour, reading, spelling, numeracy, handwriting/presentation, the use of ICT, social skills and EAL;
- helping pupils to concentrate on, and finish work set;
- meeting the physical needs of pupils as required whilst encouraging independence;
- liaising with the class teacher and SENCO about individual needs;
- developing appropriate resources to support the pupil(s).
