We are currently supporting a major Distribution Network Operator (DNO) in the UK in the search for an experienced Contracts Manager to join their commercial team. This is a senior-level opportunity to work on large-scale, high-value infrastructure projects with contract values ranging from £50M to £500M, offering long-term stability and strong career progression.
The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will play a key role in both pre-contract and post-contract commercial management, supporting the successful delivery of complex energy and EV infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the P&C Manager / Senior Contracts Manager in negotiating contract terms and conditions for high-value projects.
- Lead and support contract price negotiations, ensuring commercial robustness and value for money.
- Manage commercial aspects during the delivery phase, including change control, compensation events, and cost forecasting.
- Produce and manage cost reports, forecasts, and expenditure tracking.
- Ensure strict adherence to change management procedures and commercial governance.
- Draft, interpret, and manage commercial contracts, including NEC contracts and bespoke arrangements.
- Engage with and manage multiple internal and external stakeholders, resolving issues and disputes proactively.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies, promoting a strong safety culture.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Ideally chartered or working towards professional membership (e.g. RICS, CICES, or equivalent).
- Strong experience in:
- Contract administration
- Cost and budget management
- Commercial forecasting and reporting
- Estimating and procurement
