Once lost to the brambles of time, Lost Gardens of Heligan have become one of the most loved gardens in the UK. Located near Mevagissey in Cornwall, England, the gardens were re-awakened in 1990 to become Europe’s largest garden restoration project. Today Heligan’s 200 acres are a magnet for the explorer, wildlife, plant lover and garden romantic.

As a gardener, the new candidate will carry out numerous gardening duties, requiring a minimum amount of supervision including; soil cultivation: weeding, planting, pruning, watering, propagation any other horticultural tasks to the standards the garden requires.

The post is open to people who have a genuine enthusiasm for horticulture, interest in, or working knowledge of temperate woodland flora, including exotic species. The successful candidate will have prior experience of working in a garden, estate or similar horticultural setting and is familiar with plant identification, propagation and pest/disease recognition. You will be be able to use tools, including power tools and be physically fit, to ensure you are comfortable working across challenging terrain, with steep slopes and dense planting.

The candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, work flexibility to accommodate the weather and be happy to talk to visitors.
