BBC Gardeners’ World is one of the UK’s best loved and most respected gardening programmes on TV. The programme attracts over 2 million viewers a week, and is coming up to its 57th year.

Horticultural Researcher
Working closely with the Series Producer, Horticultural Planning Producer and Director, you will provide specialist horticultural support to the Gardeners’ World team. The ideal candidate must have a passion for horticulture with relevant qualifications, good working knowledge of plants and aspects of the gardening calendar. Exceptional research skills are required with a good nose for a story and an ability to turn complex information into accurate, engaging summaries. The candidate must be a great communicator with the confidence to build strong working relationships with a wide range of contacts.

  • Fixed Term – Full Time
  • Package band B
  • Various full-time contracts, FTC/Attachment and Freelance, February – October 2024
  • Location: BBC Studios Production, Bristol, BS1 6BX
  • Hybrid Working: Bristol office base, location and remote.
  • Standard Studios Production contract and potentially can involve up to 55 hours per week

Researcher
Working closely with the Series Producer, Horticultural Planning Producer and Director, you will provide research support to the Gardeners’ World team. The ideal candidate must have experience of working in TV as a Researcher, with knowledge of the production process and some technical know-how. A keen interest in gardening is key, with some knowledge of the main organisations involved in horticulture in the UK. Exceptional research skills are required with a good nose for a story and an ability to turn complex information into accurate, engaging summaries.
