This role is an exciting opportunity to be part of running a new Community owned business. The CornerStone of Rannoch is a bar/restaurant and flexible office space opening Spring 2025. Working closely with the Rannoch Community Trust team, we require a kitchen porter who has experience in commercial kitchens to assist The Sous Chef and Chef to play a vital role in the success of a Community owned venue.

Duties and responsibilities of The CornerStone Kitchen Porter

  • Under the general guidance and supervision of the Head Chef, assist in the washing and cleaning of all crockery, cutlery & kitchen utensils as well as carry out essential additional cleaning duties as deemed appropriate by the Head Chef.
  • Washing of all crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils for the kitchen and restaurant, ensuring everything is cleaned to a high standard and stored correctly.
  • Ensure that the Pot wash area and surrounding corridors are kept clean and tidy at all times and that effective cleaning practices are undertaken daily.
  • Assist the kitchen team by checking deliveries and putting them away for both the kitchen and restaurant.
  • Assist the kitchen team, when required, in the preparation of vegetables.
  • Report any equipment on the section which needs repair or maintenance.
  • Establish and maintain effective employee relations.
  • Inform on a daily basis The Chef on all relevant information on operational matters.
  • Undertake any relevant staff training deemed appropriate.
  • Undertake any other duties deemed appropriate by the Head Chef.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent. Minimum 25 hours per week. Due to the nature of the role, you will be expected to work evenings and weekends.

Salary & Benefits: £12.70 per hour. Weekly hourly pay. Up to 28 days accrued holiday pay. Discount on food in The CornerStone. Additional pay: Tips.
